Get Tuned Up
I don't remember ever not having a piano in my home, while I was growing up. I began music lessons at the age of six, and would come home from school, and go straight to play.? As I got older, into my teens, the time spent playing got longer, sometimes spending two hours or more per day.? Just before our first son was born, we saved up enough money to buy our own brand new piano, as I wanted our children to grow up hearing the sounds of praise, getting it into their hearts and souls, falling asleep to it, as infants.
I think it's true that an instrument, if loved enough becomes an extension of the person who plays it. When my piano begins to get out of tune, I'm painfully aware of it immediately. In fact, usually, it's not my piano tuner calling me, I call him.? I'm fascinated by the whole process of piano tuning. It takes a long time to get it right, usually over two hours, as each key is played over and over, while being adjusted by a special instrument to either tighten or loosen.? The tuner's hearing is unbelievably acute. He keeps? adjusting until his hearing tells him that it's in tune, and when the whole piano is done, it's in perfect sync. I love to play it just after he has left, it's a wonderful sound again. Every note now has perfect clarity, and when put together produces a beautiful harmony.
I was perusing my journals the other day. I love to read back, and see what the Holy Spirit has been saying to me. I came across something that, a few months ago I had sensed the Lord saying to me. He was showing me at that time, that He was again in the process of finely tuning me, and also I had the sense that what He was doing in me, He was also doing? to His body , those who truly call Him Lord.
I feel He is still calling for fine tuning. In fact I feel the urgency of His heart towards His bride at this time. There must be a harmonious sound, finely tuned in the correct pitch, emanating, from His called out ones!
If you leave a piano unturned, for a few years, not only is the sound quite horrible, but it will take a tuner, a long time to get it to pitch, and it will also take repeated tunings, to get it back to the perfect sound.? The fact is, that a piano needs a lot of care, and tuning, to make it produce a good sound when it is being played by the pianist.? This will cost money, yes, but the end sound is well worth it.
Are we asking the Lord the 'Master Tuner' to come deliberately and often to tune us up, and correct our pitch? This is the only way that we will be able to produce an individual and corporate pleasing and harmonious sound to the Lord.? In this day of fragmentation, where everyone seemingly does whatever is right in one's own eyes, will we be able to produce the sound of heaven?? There is no doubt, that there is a new sound that Holy Spirit wants to play on earth. It's already being played in heaven. This is what it means for His kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven.? What are these sounds? Well here's just a few as an example:? the sound of His justice and truth being proclaimed in our nation, and in our cities; the sound of believers who have taken their responsibilities as true priests unto their God, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom in word and in deed.? There is a coming sound, and I believe it's the sound of entire cities on their knees calling out to God, and coming into the wonderful realization that there is only one Way and that is through Jesus.
This will happen, and will happen quickly, as we as His true body, will acknowledge the need to keep ourselves finely tuned to Holy Spirit and His directives.? Some instruments, are no doubt
, in dire need of the Master's touch, as the pitch has become a discord.? Even as I write this list, today, I am so aware of the Father's overwhelming love. He so desperately wants to come and finely tune us and cause us to individually and corporately sound the sounds of heaven.? There is a world that needs to hear this beautiful harmony, this love song, of the Lord being sung.? We are the only ones who can play and sing the words.
Let's ask Him this week for a fine tuning and adjusting, so that THE SONG can now go across the air waves.
Think on these things.
Blessings on you and your household.
Janet.
